A word from the Sister Principal
Discover the welcome speech given by the Sister Principal of Collège Jean TABI in Yaoundé, an inspiring message combining prayer, discipline, academic excellence and ecological values.
Madam Secretary General of the University of Yaoundé I,
The Director of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Polytechnique de Yaoundé,
Mr Personal Representative of the Director General of SONARA,
Distinguished guests in your respective ranks, grades and titles,
Madam President of APECY, Dear Parents,
Dear Co-operators,
Dear students.
As well as extending a warm welcome to our guests and parents, I would like to say a special word to you, our students. It is for you that we are here this morning, as you return to school for the 2021 / 2022 school year.
Each of you will receive a diary this morning. On channel 3e page of this logbook, I've written you a little note which I'm going to read to you now.
Dear student,
On behalf of all the staff at Jean Tabi College, I'm delighted to welcome you for the 2021-2022 school year. It is a privilege for you to be part of the Jean Tabi family and it is a grace for us to accompany you on the path to your full potential.
Your enrolment at Collège Jean Tabi this year makes you a full member of this family that promotes prayer, hard work and discipline. I invite you to develop a sense of belonging to your school and to get involved in school and extra-curricular activities to ensure that you succeed in all areas of your life. Because your school wants to make you a man or woman of value, a benchmark. I suggest a few ways of achieving this:
- Be proud to be a jeantabien
- Maintain good relations with all your educators
- Get actively involved in planned activities
- Take care of the material assets at your disposal
- Put into practice all the provisions of the school's internal rules
- Make time for God in your school life (Masses, recollections, movements, etc.)
- Never give up in the face of difficulty or failure
- Identify your talents and put them to work for your college
I would now like to congratulate our friends from 6e who are starting their secondary school adventure on this day, in this mythical college. Feel welcome, dear children, and don't be afraid. Your senior pupils who were holding your hands just now were just like you 6 years ago. You are the future of the Collège Jean Tabi. But to deserve the status of Jean Tabi, you have to accept being a child of God by praying constantly. Today, your class teachers are going to appoint prayer leaders in each class and every morning, before the start of lessons, you must respect this important moment in your life, in the life of your class. A Jeantabian is a hard-working and disciplined student. If you respect these three key values - prayer, hard work and discipline - your time at Jean Tabi will run smoothly. This applies to all newly recruited students, as well as to some former students who may have forgotten that they were Jean Tabi students during the last holidays.
For students in examination classes, i.e. the 3eI would remind you that the previous classes achieved 3 100%. Our congratulations go to the pupils in the 2ndes who achieved 100 % in the BEPC and to those in the Tles who achieved the same score in the probationary examination. Each pupil in the examination classes must now realise that he or she is the custodian of a beautiful and important heritage, and that he or she is responsible not only for his or her own success but also for preserving the "jeantabien" label. Now is not the time for carelessness, laziness, indiscipline, vain distractions and so on.
Dear students,
The aim of this new year, which begins today, is to : " Reviving our identity in our practices to perpetuate the quality training of the jeantabien ". It will involve taking simple steps to save and protect our environment. For example: don't touch the walls, avoid writing on the desks, conserve the common property provided (geometry, cleaning and sports equipment), avoid wastage, put rubbish in the appropriate bins, respect quiet periods and toilets. These environmentally-friendly gestures will help to make the school a pleasant place to be, especially in this year when we are celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Collège Jean Tabi becoming an environmentally-friendly school.
Our mission is to offer you high-quality, comprehensive training in modern, well-equipped premises. Thanks to people of goodwill, we have been able to construct a building housing two fully equipped and connected computer rooms, which will be inaugurated in a few moments. I'd like to thank all our benefactors, all those who helped us to obtain a special grant and those who gave the widow's mite, the project manager made up of the following people Mr Hermann KAMTE Architect and Doctor ATANGANA Tabi Alain Bernard Civil engineer and structure builder Etablissements KONO. Deep gratitude to Managing Director of the CNPSat Chief Executive Officer of SONARA and Resident Representative of IAI Cameroon who helped us to equip these rooms with computers, UPS and printers.
Through this investment, we want to make you builders of a society where digital technology facilitates inclusive information. Access to ICTs and the use of new technologies make it easy to acquire and disseminate knowledge. I therefore urge you to make good use of all the equipment made available to you.
Happy new school year 2022- 2023
The Senior Sister
